In Toby’s own words - why she does what she does….

“When I was 7 I had four girlfriends, Maryanne, Linda, Sandra and Joyce. We lived on the same street. We played games. Due to our uneven numbers and the fact that Joyce was fat, often she wasn’t picked to be on a team and would cry. I loved Joyce and hated that this was stacking up to be some life’s lesson about fairness.

At dinner I’d mope. My father would say ‘Toby, you’re not the world’s mother.’

I instructed Joyce to observe while waiting on the sideline. That way she could pick up the best technique from all of us.

Eventually no matter what the game, Joyce won.

Then I grew up into exactly what my father said I wasn’t!”
